Guided sightseeing tour to the most attractive and important sites in Lima, the “City of Kings”. The tour includes Lima’s Historical Centre, passing by Plaza San Martin, Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral and its Religious Art Museum, the Church of Santo Domingo, with the tombs of Santa Rosa and San Martin de Porras, and Lima’s Colonial Balconies.

We will visit the Convent and Church of San Francisco, the greatest monumental complex of Colonial Art in America and Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The tour includes a visit to the Basilica of 21 altars, Convent of Cloisters, Capitulary and Clementine Rooms, Chorus and Library of the priests, a Museum showing 11 paintings of the Rubens School, the Sacristy with paintings of Surbaran and Ribera, its great patio decorated with Seville tiles of the XVIth Century, Moorish arches and underground catacombs. We then drive through the residential Districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, passing by the Huaca Pucllana, a ceremonial and administrative centre of the Lima Culture built in the II Century A.C. that the Incas considered as “Ñaupallaqta” or Sacred Town. We will also visit El Olivar Park with olive trees brought from Spain in the XVth Century, the Central Park of Miraflores and Larcomar, a symbol of modern Lima and a tourist and entertainment centre as well as a privileged site to enjoy an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean. Late afternoon transfer to your hotel.

Early in the morning, leave Lima by bus to the Paracas Peninsula, where we can find the most important Wildlife Sanctuary on the Peruvian Coast. Boat excursion to the Ballestas Islands, where we can observe Sea lions, Boobies, Pelicans, Penguins and other Sea birds. On the way back, from the boat, we can also see the “Candelabro”(Candelabrum), a giant figure etched in the sand on the side of a hill in the style of the Nazca Lines. Time for Lunch. (not included). In the afternoon continue by bus to the City of Nazca for overnight. Free time to enjoy the facilities of your hotel.

After an early breakfast, transfer to Nazca Airport for a 45-minute flight over the enigmatic Nazca Lines. These enormous lineal drawings of animals, birds and geometric figures remain etched in the desert and they can only be appreciated from the air. At noon, travel by bus to the City of Arequipa (About 8 hours) along the Desert and Coastal valleys. During the journey, we will make some stops in different outstanding points to rest and enjoy the sights. Arrival at the White City of Arequipa. It receives this name due to its white rock buildings, a white rock that flows out of the Misti Volcano. Upon your arrival in Arequipa, meet and transfer to the selected hotel. tThe night off. We recommended to take your dinner at Sambambaia’s or La Truffa restaurants.

Breakfast. The tour includes the Main Square, one of the most beautiful squares in Peru, and Cathedral, a prime example of XIXth Century Peruvian architecture, housing beautiful treasures in gold and silver. We also visit the La Compañia Church, an ancient Jesuit temple, maybe the most important one in Arequipa due to its history and tradition, with a beautiful façade with carved columns, laurel crowns, flowers, birds, etc. A more careful look at the façade, however, reveals the limits of European influence, as the angels have indian faces; and indeed one face is even crowned with feathers.

Then, we will visit the Saint Kathleen Convent; a “small town” built in the XVIIth Century and opened to the public in 1970, after 400 years as a Cloister. Perfectly preserved for four centuries, you go back in time as you enter the Cloister and see the numerous, spacious patios and gardens, the kitchen and slave quarters and stone washtubs of this Convent. About 20 nuns, of what were once 500, still live in a section of the Convent. Return to your selected hotel in Arequipa. Lunch on your own. We recomended to take your lunch in the restaurant Sol de Mayo.

Early in the morning, depart on a wonderful four hours bus trip to the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest Canyons in the World (3180 mts.). On the trip we drive across Pampa Cañahuas in the Aguada Blanca National Reserve, inhabited by herds of vicuñas and alpacas (South American cameloids). The highest point of the road is at 4350 m.a.s.l.. We also see beautiful pre-Columbian terraces, still being cultivated by native Collaguas. On your arrival at Colca Valley, transfer to the selected lodge. Time for Lunch (not included). In the afternoon, we recommend you to rest and get used to the altitude. If you are in good shape, you will have free time to stroll around the Lodge’s surroundings or you could take a repairing bath at the hot springs nearby the Lodge.

We leave early in the morning to the “Condor’s Cross”, where the biggest flying bird in the world can be usually seen soaring amongst the peaks. On the way back we visit the Colonial Towns and Churches of Yanque, Coporaque, Achoma and Maca. Good opportunity to appreciate the life of these people that has changed little since Inca times. Time for take lunch at a local restaurant. (not included). Late afternoon return to the selected hotel in Arequipa. Evening free.

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport of Arequipa to take your flight to Juliaca. At your arrival you will be transferred to the hotel. On the way to the Hotel, we will visit the famous Chullpas of Sillustani stone cylinder burial chambers used by the Aymaras to bury their leaders. Lake Umayo, located in front of the Chullpas, adds further beauty to the place. Here you also have the opportunity to observe several local typical birds.

Breakfast. Early in the morning, we will have an unforgettable motorboat excursion on the waters of Lake Titicaca to the unique “Floating Islands” of the Uros. These ancient inhabitants of the Lake, known as the Water Tribe, have built their own “islands” by periodically adding new layers of a type of reed called “totora” (Scirpus totora), vegetable fibre of the Papyrus family. Their homes and boats are also made from this material. We continue our motorboat trip to Taquile Island, inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives who have developed efficient and unique social systems, as well as fine hand weaving techniques, passed down through the generations. Upon arrival at the Town of Taquile we will have a lunch. Then we will walk through the various hills and archaeological sites of this 6 km long Island. In the afternoon, return to Puno for overnight at your hotel.

Breakfast. Leave in the morning by bus to the city of Cusco. We traveled along the high plateau of Collao, stopping in the village of Ayaviri,a town textile and animal husbandry, to visit the impressive Temple Kalasaya, ruins of the ancient culture Pucara. Along the way, we stop in Rachi, where we can see a spectacular Inca sanctuary built by the Inca Pachacutec and dedicated to the great Inca God Wiracocha. It has a large central wall with a base of fine stone Inca architecture. The other walls are made of adobe bricks giants. The structure also has two sidebars circulars. Around the temple are several buildings once used as housing or warehouse. Approximately 70 km later, we went through the ranch Stripe where we can see herds of llamas and vicunas. During the trip, we went through the lovely lake Wacarpay that offers spectacular views of mountains reflected in its waters tame.

We continue towards the beautiful people of Andahuaylillas, and visit the church of San Pedro de Andahuaylillas, better known as the Sistine Chapel of the Americas, due to its polychrome ceiling. Buffet lunch in a restaurant rural quiet, where you can enjoy the delicious cuisine of the region. Upon arrival in Cuzco, you will be tranferred at your hotel. Dinner on your own.

At 13:45 you leave on the Cusco City Tour. This tour includes the major sites of historical interest in Cusco, such as the famous Inca fort at Sacsayhuaman, and the temple of the Sun. Also included in this is a tourist card, giving you access to all the sites in the Cusco area as a whole (i.e., including outside of the City itself) This tour finishes at 18:00.

Early in the morning, excursion to the Urubamba Valley, the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Visit to the picturesque Indian Pisac Market held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, the shopping paradise of the Andes where barter is still practiced. Enjoy the unique atmosphere during a typical lunch.
In the afternoon, passing through the Towns of Calca and Urubamba, we visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley, and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes in the Lower jungle. You can walk through the quaint streets of the nearby Town, and get a good idea of what this Strategic Military, Religious, and Agricultural Centre was like during the era of the Inca Empire. On our way back to Cusco we stop of at the picturesque Andean Village of Chinchero to visit the ruins of the Royal Hacienda of Tupac Inca Yupanqui. We will admire a well-preserved Inca Wall in the Main Square, and visit the beautiful Colonial temple built on Inca foundations, with interesting frescoes in the portico.
Late afternoon return to your selected hotel for overnight. Evening free. We suggest strolling around the Main Square and enjoy the night atmosphere trying a delicious Pisco Sour in some of the many pubs around the Square. Note: The visit to the Village of Chinchero depends on the time available.

Early pick-up from 5:00 am at your hotel, by 5:30 we board our private transportation. Make sure you carry your original passport and ISIC card if applicable. Our journey from Cusco to Piscacucho takes approximately 3 hours, beautiful views of the Sacred Valley, the Urubamba River, Andean towns, and the Inca town of Ollantaytambo. Along the way, we will stop to stretch our legs, use the bathroom, and enjoy a small breakfast, before continuing on to Piscacucho (2,680 m / 8,790 ft) start of the hike. There we will meet our camp crew and porters who will carry our belongings during our 35-mile hike (43 Km). Passports in hand, We clear the official Inca Trail check point, cross a suspension footbridge across the Urubamba River, and begin our trek with a gentle climb. We have three hours on relatively level terrain as we follow the course of the river, rewarded with superb views of Mount Veronica (5,750 m). The easy walk passes through a forest of giant cactus and native bushes. At Miskay we take the trail to the left, ascending gradually to Willkaraccay high above the mouth of the Cusichaca River and across from the Inca town of Llactapata (Terrace Town). Our vantage point is from a flat bluff above the extensive site, which was built as a fort because it commands the entrance to the Cusichaca Valley. The terracing system was used during Inca times for growing maize, a prestige crop that needed irrigation in the dry highlands. After a short rest, we continue another 15 minutes down to our lunch site at Tayaroc. Our path is adorned with native flowers and bromeliads growing in the boulders along the left side, and by majestic views of the mountains in both valleys. Walking times are always approximate, depending on weather conditions, group ability and other factors. After lunch, another 3-4 hours will bring us to the village of Wayllabamba (3,000 m / 9,840 ft), You will be rewarded with a Macho Tea hot drink and a buffet dinner will be offered. After breakfast, around 8:00 am we re-start our walk from camp to Ayapata valley first, it takes around 1 hour followed by a soft uphill climb through woods and along a stream (3,300 m / 10,824 ft) Today is our great challenge day but with plenty of time to enjoy, it is the biggest climb of our hike, strenuous because you gain 1,200 meters in elevation planned in 2 stages, but it is rewarded with spectacular views up the mountain, partly it is an old inca Stone steps, surrounding with impressive snow-covered peaks as (Apu Huayanay mountain in our back). You will take 2-3 hour hike with several stops to catch your breath to reach the lunch place at Llulluchapampa Valley with expectacular views around, along the trail, we ascend steeply uphill through the Corralpunku Valley to the Llulluchayoc Zone, where you can see some species of birds, withith luck we will see tinny hummingbirds, falcons and black-chested buzzard eagles or perhaps we see the king of the andean heights the Condor, so respected and venerated at andean towns. We will soon enter into a beautiful cloud forest, or polylepis woodland (Qeuñas and Chachacomos small andean trees) and the treeless grasslands of the puna región, habitad of tarucas and pumas. From here, you can see the highest mountain ahead called dead woman´s pass. At Llulluchapampa our camp crew will be waiting for us with a delicious Peruvian lunch. After lunch there is a time to rest maybe a short nap. After lunch we continue our hike for another 2-3 hours -600 meter ascent up to the top of the mountain, Warmiwañusca mt. (Dead Woman’s Pass) located at 4,200 meter /13,776 feet. Here you will discover a special feelings at this top maybe the sacrality of this point or just you coping with lack of oxygen in your brain. The path still climbs along a large number of steps, some of them newly laid to protect the mountain from erosion. You can walk at your own pace, stopping to catch your breath whenever you like. This last hard climb brings us to Dead Woman’s Pass… you made it !!! Once the full group reaches this pass, we take a short rest break before beginning a steep descent into the Pacaymayo Valley for 2-3 hrs approx to reach our camp for tonight. This site has an incredible view over a valley, nearby waterfall and snow-covered peaks. You will find that your energy returns as we proceed along this downhill segment. Camping set, Tea time and Buffet Dinner. You are free to walk in you own pace. This campsite is popular with tour groups and although facilities here are reasonable good, with two toilets blocks. No showers, hot water buckets are offered for washing.

After breakfast, around 7:00 am. The path climbs very steeply from Pacaymayo camp in a well preserved paved path –Camino Inca and takes 1 hour to reach the ruins at Runcuracay, a circular structure with a rectangular outbuildings perched on the edge of the valley, an old Inca -tambo where chaskis rested, guard post, lookout point or a ritual building, the site is best viewed from higher up the path. The second pass (3,950 m / 12,956 ft) called as well as Abra de Runcuracay, is another hour up, beyond a series of false summits and at the top of a series of steep staircases. Just before the real pass, the path winds between two tarns where Andean gulls sometimes gather. The second pass is another broad saddle, boasting excentional views, in clear weather, you can look back to the Dead Woman’s Pass and forward to a breath-taking sweep of snow-capped peaks. These include the 6,000-meters Pumasillo (Puma’s Claw) massif. From here, most of the trail is downhill. Having descended through a short tunnel the trail begins a series of tight switchbacks, dropping height quickly until it reaches a small viewpoint atop a promontory. Beyond here descend is more gradual and the path curls and coils across the slopes. To the right on the pass lies a large, algae-covered lake, whilst ahead of you Sayacmarca Inca town is visible. Time to explore, learn interesting lectures from your guides, after on we continue descending and the path bring us to Chakicocha (3,400 m / 11,000 ft) nice camp where we stop to rest and lunch. There are toilet facilities. From here after lunch the hike is exceptionally beautiful because we will pass the ruins of Phuyupatamarca, then we descend to Wiñaywayna and Intipata, and enjoy dramatic vistas of the Aobamba Valley. This stretch of the trail is of well-kept paved stone, still in great condition after many centuries. Your lungs will appreciate the fact that today’s hike is much more down than up, and significantly shorter than yesterday’s. In getting to Phuyupatamarca (the Town of the Clouds), we will pass through the first of two short, natural tunnels in the mountains. After visiting this site, we will descend about 2,000 stone steps to Wiñaywayna. If you have not had any knee problems up to this point, you may after this descent. If you have had prior knee injuries, we recommend hire a porter for your belongings, use trekking poles to relieve some of the stress on your joints. There is an additional short hike to Intipata another imponent Inca site with farming terraces before we get to our camp site for the night. Around 5 pm, we will arrive to our camp at Wiñaywayna (2,700 m / 8,856 ft), once set in our tents and before it get dark we hike for 5 minutes to have an espectacular views and a tour around this site, the most preserved and biggest Inca site among the other sites on Inca Trail. There will also be many more trekkers gathering here in thsi camp, ready for the final hike into Machu Picchu tomorrow. We therefore recommend taking extra care of your personal belongings here. Keep an eye on your daypacks and don’t leave anything outside your tent at night. Tea time and Buffet Dinner. Please note that the hostel that for decades existed here is closed. Cold showers, no drinks and basic toilets.

We will get up very early -around 4:00 am -to get to Inti Punku (the Sun Gate), overlooking Machu Picchu for the first rays of the sunrise. This will be a hike of 1-2 hours, with significant upward stretches in the last half. You will be hiking in darkness for one hour, so a head lamp is strongly recommended please follow instructions of your guides and watch out your steps.
From Inti Punku (the Sun Gate), a final easy 50-minutes walk downhill steps will bring us first to the upper south sector of Machupicchu (The Guardian houses) The trail ends at a series of terraces, which present classic views of the overall city, after enjoying a panoramic view we must walk straight down to the entrance of Machu Picchu. (backpacks storage for 5 Soles available at the gate.) Few minutes later we will continue on to explore the site, with explanations provided by the trek guide(s). The formal tour will end in the late morning, after which there will be a couple of hours for more exploring on your own, or to just collapse under a tree in the central plaza area.
Additional Options: If your legs, lungs and energy still hold up after our four days of hiking, it may be possible to climb the peak of Huayna Picchu, behind the main site. However, special permits are required and they are issued in limited quantities. So if you are interested please book and pay in advance for this Ticket and request for the 2nd turn at 11:00 am, otherwise you may instead hike to the Inca Bridge or do others walks around Machupicchu.

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport in Cusco for take the flight to Puerto Maldonado Reception at the airport and transport to the WASAI Maldonado Ecolodge, where you will receive a welcome tropical fruit beverage. After a short briefing about the tour, you will embark for a 4 hour motorboat trip up the Tambopata River to WASAI Tambopata Lodge & Research Center (box lunch on route). During the trip we will be able to observe the local farms and the jungle wildlife; the most likely animal to see is capybaras, the largest rodent in the world, river turtle, caymans and different species of birds.. Accommodation at the lodge at arrival.
After a short rest we will have a brief introductory walk in the forest nearby to learn basic principles of ecology and hear some wildlife natural history and observe the nocturnal life of insects, frogs of various colors, and an occasional encounter with nocturnal mammals. Return to the lodge for dinner. We will enjoy the diverse sounds of the jungle which will accompany our first night in Amazonia. Sleep at WASAI Tambopata Lodge

Early wake up at dawn to take a light breakfast (coffee or infusion), to begin with our 40-minute journey upstream to the Macaw Clay Lick “El Chuncho” in the Bahuaja-Sonene National Park. We will have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful natural sceneries and wildlife of the riverbanks. At our arrival, if weather permits, we will observe one of the greatest wildlife spectacles where hundreds of parrots and different species of macaws gather to eat clay, an unforgettable experience. Then, we will walk through the river beach searching for animal footprints while we have refreshment.

In the middle morning we return to the lodge to have breakfast and then take a rest to relax or do the adventure activities or enjoy the facilities and the surroundings of Wasai. Also, you will have the chance of swimming in the Tambopata River. Those who wish can do kayaking on the river or you can join us to fish in the river where inhabit more than 250 species of fish.On route if the level of river are adecuated,we will visit the Cat cascades.
After lunch, we will have an ethno botanical walk into the rainforest by the Tambopata cross path, to learn about plants and medicinal trees of the area; and to observe the amazing jungle ecosystem where we will see walking palm trees, giant lupuna trees, snake trees and so on. At nightfall, we embark again to make a nocturnal caiman search. Night at WASAI Tambopata Lodge.

After breakfast we will make a trip in boat to the WASAI Maldonado Ecolodge, in Puerto Maldonado where we will relax in our bungalows and enjoy a tasty lunch. After lunch we will leave and travel for thirty minutes on the Madre de Dios River, to the access trail to Sandoval Lake, a beautiful rainforest oxbow lake. 3 km hike to the banks of the lake. There we will board a canoe to paddle around the lake enjoying the beauty of the landscape and observing the wildlife, such as kingfishers, herons, hoatzins (unique pre historic looking birds), monkeys, etc. If we are lucky we could see the family of giant otters which live at the lake. We will have the opportunity to swim in the lake.
It is time to begin our return hike to the Madre de Dios River to return to Puerto Maldonado. There we will stay in the modern and comfortable bungalows of WASAI Maldonado Ecolodge. After dinner we will be able to rest or go around the city on foot or on bicycle. You can enjoy the swimming pool and its cascade surrounded by tropical vegetation. Rest of the night free to enjoy the night life of this welcoming city. Night at WASAI Maldonado Ecolodge.
